Alex works with industry-leading tools to provide fast and clear feedback to clients, and regularly presents on building energy use, carbon reduction, and energy policy and codes.During her spare time, she can be found lifting weights, playing ultimate, and experimenting with gluten free baking.

David is a professional engineer that specializes in building enclosure design and evaluation.  He brings 25+ years of experience and extensive knowledge of building enclosure on a variety of building types, occupancies, and climate zones to both new and existing buildings. His material background brings an invaluable advantage for evaluation new systems and emergent technologies.  David is recognized and active within the building science industry in Vancouver, on the EGBC building code advisory committee and often requested by clients and industry partners to give presentations on various building science subjects, review and co-author technical papers and provide expert witness testimony.    

Outside of work, David enjoys travelling to experience new places, gardening, puttering in his workshop and trying to stay active in the great outdoors.

Patrick is a building science specialist with over 20 years of consulting experience related to building science and energy efficiency. Patrick’s focus in recent years has been providing tools and guidance to the industry to help practitioners make informed design decisions related to constructability, thermal, structural, energy, and hygrothermal performance. Timely industry guidance includes the Building Envelope Thermal Bridging (BETB) Guide, the Attic Ventilation and Moisture Research Study, and the Guide to Low Thermal Energy Demand for Large Buildings (Low TEDI Guide).

When he is not at work, Patrick keeps busy coaching his son’s sports teams, playing hockey, skiing the slopes, or taking care of his never-ending home project.

Sophie is a building envelope specialist with a 23 year history of working collaboratively and successfully with industry partners. Sophie brings strong technical skills in building science, materials, value engineering and integration of sustainable and energy efficient designs.  This allows her to deliver balanced and relevant building envelope solutions, especially at the early stage of new construction projects where compliance with the Energy Step Code is considered.Outside of work, you may meet Sophie hiking the Northshore peaks or sipping wine and enjoying good food with family and friends.

Al is a building enclosure consultant with over 35 years of experience split evenly between the construction side and consulting.  He has worked as a tradesperson, educator, contractor and consultant.   Al started work in Vancouver specializing in the repair of numerous building envelope rehabilitation projects as a contractor before transitioning to overseeing similar projects on the consulting side.  Over the last 15 years, he has specialized in waterproofing and roofing of all types of buildings performing assessments, design, field review and contract administration on all types of buildings.  He brings to each project extensive experience, in depth knowledge of constructability and provides clients with best value solutions.

Outside of work, Al still enjoys renovating, woodworking, biking and hiking.

Derek is a building envelope engineer with 6 years of consulting experience in a mix of residential, commercial and institutional sectors. Derek has a broad-based engineering background and experience working in general contracting. His breadth of knowledge brings a well-rounded approach to building assessments, design and construction field review.   In his spare time, Derek enjoys playing sports including hockey, snowboarding and rock climbing or enjoying the local breweries in the Mount Pleasant area.

Derek is a building envelope engineer with 8 years of consulting experience in a mix of residential, commercial and institutional sectors. Derek has a broad-based engineering background and experience working in general contracting. His breadth of knowledge brings a well-rounded approach to building assessments, design and construction field review.

In his spare time, Derek enjoys playing sports including hockey, snowboarding and rock climbing or enjoying the local breweries in the Mount Pleasant area.

Chris has over 18 years of building science experience, 15 of which were spent servicing the Vancouver Island market. He brings to each project excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a strong commitment to client satisfaction and in-depth knowledge of envelope. His clients have been counting on his expertise for both existing buildings and new builds. 

When not working Chris can be found spending time with his family, coaching his kids sports teams and exploring all of the outdoor treasures Vancouver Island and the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Jackie White is a professional engineer with 25 years of consulting experience.  Throughout her career, Jackie has worked as an envelope consultant on new construction and rehabilitation and renewals of existing buildings, as well as in collaboration with other disciplines to deliver whole building assessments.  This experience has led to an interest and concentration on post construction services.   As Evoke’s Building Facility Lead, Jackie brings extensive expertise in the preparation of condition assessments, warranty reviews and depreciation reports for both commercial and residential buildings, as well as consulting services for maintenance renewals.  Jackie looks forwards to continuing to work with building owners and property managers to ensure the long term maintenance and health of their buildings.

Outside of work, Jackie is active in various sports as both a volunteer and a participant.  Weekends are spent traveling for kid’s sports and camping and ski trips with friends and family.  Quiet time with a book and a glass of wine is also worked in where possible.

Niti is a building energy consultant and new graduate with an interest in energy modelling, sustainable building design, and decarbonization policy. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering and Diploma in Sustainability with a focus on energy systems. Niti then went on to pursue a Masters in Cities Engineering and Management and focused on urban structures to develop a deeper understanding of sustainable infrastructure design.  

Outside of work, Niti enjoys hiking, drawing, reading, and trying new restaurants with friends.

Nicolas is a Building Science Engineer (EIT) with an interesting background.  After studying and practicing in electrical engineering, he decided to pursue his passion for buildings by completing a Master of Building Science.  His keen interest for component modeling and hygrothermal analysis is well complimented by his continued involvement with new construction and rehabilitation projects.  Nicolas is also the resident expert when it comes to instrumentation and measurements.

Outside of work, Nicolas enjoys backpacking, training his puppy, playing board games with friends and making his own beer.

Eileen is Evoke’s Business Development and Marketing Manager with over 25 years providing support to consulting engineers.  As an integral part of the team, she oversees development of Evoke’s marketing materials.  She collaborates with the team and uses her technical writing background to contribute to the quality of our deliverables.   

When not at work, Eileen enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the city’s architecture & gardening.

He enjoys a good puzzle and finds that same enjoyment from hygrothermal, thermal analysis and field testing and monitoring. Patrick graduated with a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering with a building systems specialization.

You can find Patrick in his spare time playing competitive ultimate frisbee or taking many photos of his food during urban and nature hikes.

John is a Building Science Consultant with 6 years of consulting experience which covers a mix of projects in the residential, commercial, and institutional sectors.  John started his career working as a carpenter and has since developed his skills in consulting.  This combination has allowed him to gain a diverse background in construction and offer an in-depth knowledge of constructability. 

Outside of work, John can be found spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, gardening, or renovating his old house.

Wendell is a building science consultant with over 12 years of consulting and several years of construction experience before that. His consulting experience includes investigations, envelope rehabilitation, roofing renewals but also includes a large focus on new construction, with a broad range of building types. Whatever the project, he brings prompt and insightful communication to the project team and provides practical solutions that align with client goals. 

Outside of work, he is trying to keep up with his 3 kids on and off the soccer field and enjoys family camping, hiking adventures, cycling (road and mountain) and reluctantly runs from time to time which allows for culinary indulgences of all sorts.

Alex is a Building Energy Consultant with 4 years experience in building science consulting and energy modelling, and a passion for finding scalable solutions to decarbonize the built environment. He has diverse project experience ranging from all-electric hospitals, community centers, and passive house rental towers, to building policy research such as archetype studies and technology assessments.  Alex’s approach is grounded by his education in mechanical engineering and building science, which allows him to find practical and efficient strategies to improve building energy performance.

In his free time, you may find Alex ski-touring nearby peaks, cooking up a gourmet meal, or cycling with his dog in tow.

Julia is a building energy consultant with an interest in energy modeling and low-impact building design. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on building science and structural design and is a Certified Passive House Designer. She looks forward to finding design solutions that not only help achieve net-zero energy readiness but also enhance human comfort and reduce carbon emissions.

When not at work, Julia enjoys knitting, hiking, and snowboarding.

Erfan is a building envelope consultant and Engineer in Training. With a background in mechatronics, his passion for buildings led him to continue his education with a Masters in building science. With over 3 years of experience in the building science field, he is particularly passionate about energy-saving initiatives, high-performance, and durable buildings. He strives for development in engineering practices and likes to conduct his own testing to confirm performance expectations.

Outside of work, you'll often find Erfan playing football (some might call it soccer), rock climbing, and cruising on his motorcycle along the Sea-to-Sky.

Richard is our building science co-op, and a 4th year undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo studying Architectural Engineering. He has an interest in building science and structures, particularly in the intersection between engineering, design, and sustainability.

When he’s not at work, he can be found exploring the city, watching a good movie, or going on hikes.
