  • Overview:

    Evoke is looking for an Office Manager and Project Accounting Lead to join our growing team. The focus of this position is to look to the good functioning of the office, provide project accounting and support the team through various office and project tasks.

    As a young firm, our team members fill many roles, making this position both diverse and dynamic.  Core accounting and administrative responsibilities will be supplemented with additional tasks specific to your skills as we look for innovative ways to grow our business.  Whether you bring knowledge in graphic design, information technology, or other complimentary skills, we will work with you to leverage your assets and incorporate your strengths into your day-to-day work.

    Responsibilities:

    Accounting:

    • Setup and maintain project accounts using BQE Core, including invoicing and collections.  Work with project managers to ensure projects are in good financial health.

    • Process staff payroll and expenses.

    • Maintain vendor information current including contracts, WCB and insurance for our sub-consultants.

    • Process sub-consultant expenses

    • Bookkeeping, including reconciliation in QuickBooks.

    • Track financial numbers and graphs to help with regular results reporting.

    • Assist with the financial year end process.

    Administration and Office Management

    • Manage office operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness.

    • Manage office supplies and equipment.

    • Support group with project workload and scheduling.

    • Format, edit and assemble technical reports.

    • Assist with the standardization of Evoke documents overall.

    • Assist and help maintain project quality management system.

    Qualifications and competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Eligibility to obtain P.Eng. desired

    • Previous construction or project management experience an asset but not a requirement

    • Ability to communicate effectively, excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Strong initiative and good time management

    • Ability to shift focus on ever evolving priorities, and maintain attention to detail

    • Aspiration to be a lifelong learner

    • Designation such as Passive House or LEED AP an advantage

    Salary $65-85K depending on experience and skills

  • Overview:

    As an Intermediate Building Envelope Consultant at Evoke, you'll take the lead on building envelope projects, guiding them from inception to completion. We foster a hands-on and collaborative work environment, where you'll be an integral part of our experienced team.

    You'll have ample opportunities to exchange ideas within Evoke and beyond, engaging with various industry groups. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, including direct client communication and coordinating project deliverables with the support of your colleagues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee, manage, and deliver projects in a manner that contributes to the positive reputation and financial success of the company.

    • Effectively communicate with clients and other internal and external team members.

    • Mentor junior staff.

    • Conduct business development.

    • Contribute to the technical development of the company, as well as your own.

    Qualifications and competencies:

    Our ideal candidate holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or other accreditation such are RRO, Passive House Certification, with five (5) years of experience. You should have a robust foundation in building envelope knowledge and practical field experience.     • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage directly with clients and other stakeholders.

    •  A good technical foundation and a track record of successfully completing projects.

    • A proactive attitude, with good time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.

    • An inquiring mindset, with the ability to apply engineering judgment to resolve design and construction related problems and the curiosity to stay abreast of emerging material and technologies.

    • Ability to work at heights is expected, including review of details at the edge of buildings with fall restraint and access heights using ladders, swing stage and scaffolding.

    • Designation such as Passive House or LEED AP an advantage.

    This position will be primarily in-office at our Burnaby office.

    Salary $85K-110K/year
