    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Undertake assessment, investigation and design of roofing & overall building enclosures (We have an immediate need for primary focus of roofing).

    • Undertake design, review and testing building envelope for new construction and renewal projects.

    • Apply engineering judgment to resolve design and construction related problems

    • Communicate with clients and other stakeholders

    • Manage projects for efficient and timely delivery of quality deliverables.

    • Work closely with project teams to obtain information and provide clear and responsive feedback. 

    • Maintain a high level of familiarity with relevant codes and standards, and interpret those codes and standards.

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Degree or Diploma in Building Science, Engineering, Architecture or comparable relevant experience. 

    • Previous exposure to roofing is a requirement, looking for 3-5 years’ experience at a minimum. RRO designation is a distinct advantage.

    • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks and take direction from high level objectives.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

    • Ability to work at heights is expected, including review of details at the edge buildings with fall restraint and access heights using ladders, swing stage and scaffolding

  • Evoke is looking for proposal coordinator to join our growing team as a full-time employee. The focus of this position is to prepare proposals as well as identify new business opportunities and reach out to prospective clients. An interest in marketing would be an asset to enhance Evoke’s online presence and deliverables.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    Proposal Coordinator

    • Review and develop a detailed understanding of client proposal/bid requirements.

    • Spearhead kick-off meetings to discuss proposal strategy, content development, resources and internal deadlines.

    • Create and update templates for proposals, resumes and project sheets.

    • Prepare, edit, format and submit proposal/bid sections, resumes and project sheets.

    • Track and ensure timely proposal/bid deliverables required from internal and external partners, including health and safety forms, proposal/bid forms, finance support letters and write-ups from various authors.

    • Ensure that all content supplied by the team is compliant with the proposal requirements.

    • Prepare proposal/bid write-ups for various construction related topics (methodologies, risk management issues, staff management, work plans, cover letters and summaries).

    • Maintain a record of pursuit reports and scheduling.

    Marketing:

    • Organize and schedule regular marketing and proposal team meetings, prepare meeting agendas and take meeting minutes.

    • Maintain website (Squarespace).

    • Post on social media (LinkedIn).

    • Track upcoming conferences and possible representation.

    • Periodically refresh brand

    Qualifications:

    • Post secondary education in communications, marketing or related field is an asset.

    • Experience within Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry an asset.

    • Ability to work in deadline-driven environment.

    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills.

    • Strong proposal, business, and technical writing skills; able to write original text and customize existing templates to suit assignments.

    • High degree of organizational skills.

    • Marketing and design experience is an asset.

    Full Time position primarily in-office with possibility to work from home on occasion.

    Salary $55K-$90K/year  (dependent on experience)

  • Overview:

    As an Intermediate Building Envelope Consultant at Evoke, you'll take the lead on building envelope projects, guiding them from inception to completion. We foster a hands-on and collaborative work environment, where you'll be an integral part of our experienced team.

    You'll have ample opportunities to exchange ideas within Evoke and beyond, engaging with various industry groups. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, including direct client communication and coordinating project deliverables with the support of your colleagues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee, manage, and deliver projects in a manner that contributes to the positive reputation and financial success of the company.

    • Effectively communicate with clients and other internal and external team members.

    • Mentor junior staff.

    • Conduct business development.

    • Contribute to the technical development of the company, as well as your own.

    Qualifications and competencies:

    Our ideal candidate holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or other accreditation such are RRO, Passive House Certification, with five (5) years of experience. You should have a robust foundation in building envelope knowledge and practical field experience.     •  A good technical foundation and a track record of successfully completing projects.

    • An inquiring mindset, with the ability to apply engineering judgment to resolve design and construction related problems and the curiosity to stay abreast of emerging material and technologies.

    • Ability to work at heights is expected, including review of details at the edge of buildings with fall restraint and access heights using ladders, swing stage and scaffolding.

    • Designation such as Passive House or LEED AP an advantage.

    This position will be primarily in-office at our Burnaby office.

    Salary $85K-110K/year
